Land O’ Lakes, FL – (September 7, 2018) – Hailey Mahadeen, currently a 9th grader at Sunlake High School, is one of 300 students in the nation named a Top Broadcom MASTERS finalist. She was selected for her 8th grade science fair project – Cryoprotection – at Rushe Middle School last year.

The next step in the Broadcom MASTERS takes place on September 18, when a panel of expert scientists, engineers, and educators select 30 finalists from the Top 300 MASTERS. The 30 finalists and a parent or guardian will receive an all-expense paid trip to Washington, DC, to attend the Broadcom MASTERS Finals Week competition from October 19-24. Finalists will present their research and compete in hands-on challenges for top prizes, including funds to attend a STEM summer camp and the $25,000 Samueli Prize.
