In order to protect the health and safety of employees, staff, and students, all those who access Pasco County School locations must self-screen for symptoms and other risk factors of COVID-19 daily. If you answer YES to any of the questions, you should NOT be on a school campus or school district office. All three self-screeners – the Student Self-Screener, the Employee Self-Screener, and the Visitor Self-Screener – are accessible from the district’s COVID-19 protocols page and are posted on each school web page.

Dear Raven Families,

As you may know, our school recently experienced physical damages from the Tik Tok challenge held in September.  Unfortunately, a new Tik Tok challenge for this month has been released.

Parents, we want to make you aware that for October, the nationwide harmful Tik Tok challenge promotes slapping a school staff member.  We need your help to stop this challenge from affecting our school.  We are sending a message to you today informing our school community of the serious educational and criminal consequences for any student who participates in this challenge.

Charles S. Rushe Middle School will absolutely not tolerate this type of behavior.  Any student caught participating in this challenge will be arrested on felony charges and disciplined at the school level to the fullest extent.  We are not playing games with those participating in this type of behavior and will recommend expulsion from school along with involving our School Resource Officer.  This also includes anyone caught participating in graffiti and vandalism of the school.

We are working to counteract this negativity by declaring October as “Kindness Month”.  Our school counselors have developed a theme for each day, and we will promote these acts of kindness on our morning announcements and throughout the school day. I have attached a draft calendar that outlines these daily themes.

Safety at CSRMS has always been and will continue to be our #1 priority.  Our basic safety need must be met at all times not only for our students but also for all of our school personnel and all who visit our campus.

We thank you for always supporting our school.  Please talk to your children and help us send a message to students about respecting our school, their peers, and our school staff.

Sincerely, David Salerno Principal
