Hello 8th grade Raven Families!
This is Rachel Boehmer, this year’s 8th grade administrator from Charles S. Rushe Middle School. I am so very proud of our 8th grade students for actively engaging in our distance learning platform to date. Remember, the deadline to submit assignments is fast approaching. Students will be able to submit assignments for a grade up to May 27th at 11:59 pm. Be sure to finish strong!!
While I am saddened by the thought of not being able to physically send our Ravens off, Soaring to Sunlake, I am looking forward to our scheduled Drive Thru Celebration. If you have not yet heard, Rushe is excited to be hosting an 8th grade drive thru celebration on May 28th, where we can safely, from a distance, celebrate our 8th grade students moving to high school. Please note your student’s scheduled celebration time: Conquistadors and G-Teams will be celebrated between 8am-10am. Rough Riders, Guardians of the Galaxy, and SOAR Teams will be celebrated between 12pm-2pm. 8th Grade Team Chart
Written directions and guided driving instructions have been attached to this email. These documents have also been posted to our social media sites; such as our Rushe Webpage, Facebook, and Twitter. Please do not send your student to school on foot or bicycle. There will be a lot of traffic on campus and so this would be extremely unsafe.
The reason I am emailing is to give you a few additional pieces of information regarding the drive thru celebration.
- Please be sure to post your student’s name, in a visible location, on the inside of your vehicle. Typically, this is the front windshield, especially with vehicles that have tinted windows. This will help our Raven staff identify which items need to be placed in each car quickly.
- Feel free to decorate your car for the occasion. Shoe polish works on windows and balloons or other celebratory signs are welcomed.
- We want to make our 8th grade students feel important. So, please feel free to make a self-standing congratulatory sign, and drop it off at Rushe on Tues. May 26th between 8am-2pm by the gym, concession stand entrance. Please note, if your sign does not have a stake or something to make it self-standing, it will not be put out for viewing.
We hope you can join us for this exciting event! We are looking forward to waiving to our 8th grade students as they drive-by.
