| Mystery Monday– Mystery readers will read their favorite book to students. What Mystery reads are on your own bookshelf that you’d like to share? | Travel Tuesday– Where do the books on your shelf take you? Share your favorite “place” (setting) from a book. | Window Wednesday– Books help us see the world. Teachers, display your favorite book in your classroom window or desk. | Thankful Thursday- “and the shelfie goes to…” Students bring in your favorite book to take a classroom selfie with it! | Flashback Friday– What was the first book you read that got you hooked on reading? |
Beanstack Challenge
In addition to our monthly reading challenge on Beanstack, there will be a one week challenge that combines reading 20 minutes and completing an activity every day. Both must be completed and logged to achieve the daily badge in Beanstack.
This challenge will be available for students in Beanstack on Monday, January 22.
Activities:
Monday – Create a bookmark.(Turn these in to Mrs. White in the Media Center for the decorating contest. She will also have copies of the bookmark available.)
• This is a contest! Use the template and turn in to the RMA by Friday, January 24.
Tuesday – Read to a pet or stuffed animal.
Wednesday – Complete a questionnaire (Link to a questionnaire of favorite genres will be in Beanstack)
Thursday – Believe in your “shelf” by recommending a book or story to a friend or family member
Friday – Dress up theme (wear your school shirt or school colors)
